Hello. I am taking my first CAD class, and I am having trouble downloading AutoCad Electrical 2010. I am trying to install it on my home computer (Windows Vista). During the installation, I am getting ERROR 1606: Could Not Access Network Location Autodesk\Acade 2010\Support. I have read the suggestions online about opening the registry editor, and I am a bit confused. In my registry there are about 20 files that all look correct. The first 2 listed do not have a location associated with them. THis is what they say..
(Default)..location field is blank
Do not use this registry key....Use the SHGetFolderPath or SHGetKnownFolderPath function instead
Could this be what the problem is?
Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks in advance.
Tony
I have gone through every registry, and they are all correct. I tried to install again today, and I am still getting the same error message 1606...could not access network location autodesk\acade 2010\support......???
I think the advice you are referencing is regarding a Microsoft Knowledgebase Article. Microsoft has a Fix It tool that will automate this fix. You will find it at this URL.
If you continue to have problems please upload the “AutoCAD Electrical 2011 Setup.log” and “Acade2011Install.log” files from the temp folder. You can find these log files by starting Windows Explorer and typing %TEMP% in the Address bar.
thanks for getting back to me. I actually succeeded sunday night on getting the software to download finally. But thank you anyways.
