I was able to install AMCAD from Product Design Suite Ultimate but not INV. During installation, setup does not find Web Services Enhancements (WSE) 3.0.msi so I have to browse to it manually. Each time, setup fails at this point:

Install Web Services Enhancements (WSE) 3.0 for Microsoft .NET Failed Installation aborted, Result=1612

Any suggestions?

Try downloading and installing it separate from your Autodesk installation and see if it still fails on install from Microsoft.

I had this same issue.  Autodesk believes it is an issue when a machine has multiple mapped network drives to the machine.  They explained it to me, but still doesn't make sense.

However, this should resolve the issue for you.

1. Copy media to local machine
2. Edit "Setup.ini" and remove the WSE 3.0 prerequisite for Inventor and Vault depending on what you are installing.
3. Save "Setup.ini"
4. Run "Setup.exe" and continue with install

Yes, that is a work around for installation that would work.  However, without WSE properly installed you might have problems with your content center, vault, etc.

Yes that is correct.  With the testing I did, WSE 3.0 was installed properly on the machine.  I uninstalled and reinstalled it manually thinking the Inventor 2012 installer wasn't seeing it as installed.  Even though it was installed correctly the Inventor 2012 installer still thought it wasn't and kept trying to install it which is where it would fail.

So like TravisNave said, make sure WSE is installed on your machine properly.

Sorry but Windows 8 is not a supported platform for Inventor 2012.  You will have to wait for the next release or install Inventor on Windows 7 for the time being.

how about inventor 2013... my friend can install on windows 8 and i still stuck about WSE too -_-
can windows 8 has double booting? windows 7 and windows 8
