I/O port conflict

what would cause this warning box?

'The output to the device must be spooled through a system printer because of a conflict over an I/O port. The HDI hardware configuration will not take effect. Some System printers could possibly corrupt the output. To allow direct connection to the port, all system printers must be reconfigured not to use that port.'

The I/O conflict won't let the Hiedi drivers work. and when they don't let the Hiedi drivers work the HP Design Jet Toolbox dosn't spool it. and it throws the plot file at plotter which can't handle the size of the plots being sent.

Hi,

this is really only a warning that says that you've
configured the Heidi driver to plot directly to LPT? and already have a system
printer configured to same port. The fact that the spooler for your HP plotter
cannot handle the Heidi output is understandable. You should change to using the
system printer to start with. Especially if you are using AutoCAD 2000i or 2002.
This is the method Autodesk and HP recommend. The Heidi drivers are mainly meant
for plotters emulating an HP plotter.
