Hardware upgrade - server

Planning a HW upgrade and only have license mgr on a single server. (Using Teamworks vault for data). What is the procedure for moving the license mgr and are there any other things to consider (e.g. machine name registered with the license?)

thanks,
Ed

You will have to get a new license file for this. But once you configure the new license server, you should pretty much be set. The client machines can be pointed to the new NLM from within the software when you launch it, or via the ADSKFLEX_LICENSE_FILE system environment variable.

You can find a good article on moving your license service from one machine to another at the following link:

http://usa.autodesk.com/getdoc/id=TS1066086

That article also contains a link to the article which covers the usage of the environment variable to which Travis referred in his post.  With regard to obtaining the new license file, you can visit www.autodesk.com/register, or you can call the Activations & Licensing department at 1(800)551-1490.
