Going from 30 day trial to full install

Good morning,

Several of my clients needed to install several programs from the Autodesk suite as soon as they were released. They did not know our serial number, so chose "30 day trial", and then on the next screen went into configure and put it our license server URL - thinking this would work. Well, it did - for 30 days. We now have a large number of users who are calling and needing this fixed ASAP. Is there a quick way to change from the 30-day demo where we can just put in the serial number and license server without having to reinstall? Several of them use Revit for BIM, so we're looking at having to uninstall several pieces of software (Autodesk and non Autodesk) and then reinstalling - which we do not have time for.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

For Revit it is mentioned here.

That will allow us to "borrow" a license, but we are not wanting to do that. We are wanting the program to open, check out a licence, and then when closed return the license to the license server.

Any ideas on that? Thanks for your input.

Borrow is for offline use of license. (when the computer is not connected to the LIcense Server's Network)

If you set it as network license it will behave the way you have described.

"We are wanting the program to open, check out a licence, and then when closed return the license to the license server."

It has been set as network, but it still doesn't act as a network installation after it was originally installed as a 30-day demo. We can follow the directions sent earlier in this thread

1. Launch Revit Architecture 2011.
2. Click on the Application Menu (Big purple "R" in upper left corner).
3. Click on Licensing to launch the Product and License Information dialog window.
4. Under the heading License type, select Nework.
5. Input the requested network Server information and click on the borrow button.
6. Click the Close button.
7. Close and restart Revit.

Those are the only options - and it makes you "borrow" a license. You don't have a choice to not borrow - and if you don't borrow, it won't obtain a valid license through "network" . If we uninstall and reinstall and choose - network, it works fine. It's the initial demo that has messed this up. We are slowly just reinstalling, but this is not an ideal solution.

Thanks. Screenshots can be provided if needed.

Are you able to  borrow successfully. If yes, please return the license after the restart of revit .

If normal licensing doesnt work after this you could try to edit the licpath.lic to verify the server details (especially if you are using redundant servers)

also you could try to create the env. variable to point to the license server.
