Fusion 360 (Errno 13) Permission denied

I got i touch with Autodesk through Tweeter, but they delegated the problem to a thread which unfortunately does not help me.

Could you please help me with my Fusion 360 installation?:

"(Errno 13) Permission denied:
'/User/alejandrobona/Applications/Autodesk
Fusion 360.app'. Please attach the file
"/User/alejandrobona/Library/Logs/autodesk.webdeploy.streamer.log"
to any problem reports before closing
this dialog."

I have an 2.53 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Macbook Pro 13 running OSX 10.7.5

It installs runs, but crashes unexpectedly. When I wish to run it again the application icon does not appear in my Applications folder and I have to run the installer again, which opens the program but also gives me the same error message.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Hello and Welcome to the Community!

You are reporting problems with running Fusion 360 after installing it on your Mac book Pro 13 running on OSX 10.7.5.  You are receiving an error message (Errno 13) Permission denied.  This error could be caused by your permission settings or corruption with the installation.

-          Are you having problems with any other recently installed applications?

-          Do you get the same error message when logging in as root (sudo)?

Enabling and using the "root" user in Mac OS X

http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1528

-          Locate the parent folder for where Fusion 360 is installed.  Make sure the extended permissions for everyone has ‘read & write’ access.  You can access the extended permissions by selecting the folder/file, click ‘file’ up at the top and locate ‘get file’. For details please refer to the link:

http://knowledge.autodesk.com/search-result/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Dealing-with-extended-per...

-          To rule out possible corruption, please try uninstalling and reinstalling Fusion 360.

Thanks for the reply Brad!

I have Read & Wite permissions in my user session.

I did a clean uninstall as user and found that in $TMPDIR/Autodesk there was only the BrowserCache folder, all the others were missing.

When I reinstall I get the same Errno 13 message.

When I install it as "root" there is no Errno 13 message, but when I try to run it I get the following message in the Fusion 360 browser:

xoauth_problem=parameter_rejected&xoauth_parameters_absent=oauth_redirect_url&oauth_error_message=Invalid+value+for+parameter%3aoauth_redirect_url

Also, when I then log out of root and return to my user/adminstrator session, there is no Fusion 360 on my dock and the folders in Application Support are different to those in "root".

Hi Brad,

I verified and repaired, ran the installer again to get the same (Errno 13) message.

Also, when I start the Fusion 360 I installed through "root" (found on: /$HOME/Library/Application Support/Autodesk/webdeploy/production/242567bf6bf58e972265608d3d37f3926e260030) I am getting the same message where the Dashboard should be:

"xoauth_problem=parameter_rejected&xoauth_parameters_absent=oauth_redirect_url&oauth_error_message=Invalid+value+for+parameter%3aoauth_redirect_url"

Could you attach the "autodesk.webdeploy.streamer.log" file refenced in the original post?

Also, is the Date and Time set correctly to match the local time zone?

Thanks,

Hi Wolfgang!

Welcome to the Autodesk community! In the attached error log, I note the below syntax:

"adsk.dls.streamer.exceptions.LockedRegistry: An installation is already in progress"

This error generally occurs when the installer is launched multiple times. It looks like you are on Can you open the Activity Monitor (Mac OS) or the Task Scheduler (Windows) and search for any process named Streamer or Fusion 360 Client Downloader.

Force Quit or End any of these processes and then restart the installer file. After doing this, I believe the installation will be successful.

I hope this suggestions helps. Please let me know if there are any question or complication.

Best,

Hi Nathan,

unfortunately this does not work.

I do not have an application called named Streamer or Fusion 360 Client Downloader running.

When installing Fusion I get the Error message and when I do nothing Fusion 365 is opened, but it is not installed...

Then both - the installer + the software - is running at the same time.

When I close Fusion 365 it is gone and not installed.

Any idea what to do?

Best,

Wolfgang

Is this the first time installing the application? If so, are you installing from the Mac Apple Store or the Autodesk website?

If you're installing from the Mac Apple Store, you should find a "Fusion 360.app" in the Application Folder. Do you find it there?

If you're isntalling from Autodesk website, you may browse to the below directory and search for a file named "Autodesk Fusion 360.app"

Macintosh HD/Users/<PROFILENAME>/Library/Application Support/Autodesk/webdeploy/production/<ID>/

If this is not your first time installing, it may be a good idea to start fresh. This may be the fastest solution whether or not you have installed before.

  1. Close any Fusion 360, streamer or Fusion 360 Downloader
  2. Perform a clean uninstall
  3. Next, re-install by going to Fusion 360 Product Page and selecting Download Free Trial

Please let me know if this suggestion helps or if there are any questions.

The error messageis referencing the installation log file. On Windows 10, the below link can help you to locate the installation log file.

If you don't mind, could you reply with the installation log file attached?

On a side note, there is a collection of Installation and Update related solution articles in the below link that may help as well.

I hope that helps!
