Flexlm license priority

We want to prioritize our licenses. If all licenses are being used and another user attempts to logon, we want to check his priority level and dump someone with a lower priority, thus freeing up the license for the person with the higher priority. Can it be done?

Have you looked at all the options available in the OPTIONS file?

I don't think you can 'dump' a license in use, but you could probably
use some combination of RESERVE, EXCLUDE, INCLUDE, etc. to make sure a
license is available for a certain group.

The best way to do this is just reserve a license for the particular user.

If you try to reclaim a license from an active AutoCAD session, the keep-alive functionality will simply request a new license from the LM immediately.

If you don't want to reserve a license, you could create groups in your options file and give one group enough licenses to always have one, and another group to split the rest.

There are many ways of configuring the LM, but taking a license away is not one of them. Perhaps you should purchase additional licenses or just give the higher priority user a stand-alone copy of their own.
