FlexLM

I am wondering if any of you have run across the event error in relation to
FlexLM? To check, go to you event viewer on the machine that FlexLM is
installed on. Goto the control panel, administrative tools, and event
viewer. Select applications on the left hand side. In that list there may
be an error for event 7000. If you double click that error you get a
dialogue stating that Event ID 7000 has an error with the description
reading... "The DS1410D service failed to start due to the following error:
The system cannot find the file specified." I am wondering if any of you
have found a fix for this error. It doesn't appear to do any thing, but
having it there is not clean. It shows up every time you restart that
computer. I haven't noticed it on PC's that do not have FlexLM installed.
Thank you in advance for any insight you may have.

Hi Shawn,

I've seen this error a lot of times 😉
I most cases the reason is simple: The FLEXlm isn't installed on Drive
"C:" or the path includes blanks. I don't know the english versions but
in the german install routine the default path is
"C:\Programme\Autodesk\Autodesk Lizenz Manager"
Easy to fix:
- Stop the FLEXlm service
- Make a copy of your licensefile
- Uninstall FLEXlm
- reboot
- install FLEXlm on "C:\FLEXlm"
- configure the service correctly
Regards

Andi

Thank you, I will test this theory, and see if it works.

Unfortunately, that solution did not work after all. I uninstalled the
Network License manager. Restarted my PC. Deleted the remains of the
directory. Re-Installed the License manager in C:\FlexLM. Re Configured
and started my service. Then I Re-started my PC. No Dice. It still gives
me that error in the Event Viewer. Any other suggestions?
