I think that to use TIMEOUT or TIMEOUTALL is the best option.

I'm reposting this from the Inventor forum. Didn't think this would be
buried under AutoCAD....
=============================
Not sure if there's a forum more suited for this, but I'll ask here to
start. Our FlexLM license server doesn't appear to be releasing seats when a
user closes AutoCAD or Inventor.
About an hour ago, a user tried to access Inventor and there were no seats
available. I queried the license status and it showed ALL of our seats in
use and all were taken on the 7th, 8th, and 9th of March (I'm betting that
the 7th was the last day that I had the IT admin "flush" the server).
A couple of the seats were reserved for users who either aren't here today
or aren't using AutoCAD or Inventor.
Is there a setting in FlexLM that I can tell it to release the seats after
"X" minutes ?? Then again, it appears to not be detecting that a user has
closed the programs. If a user crashed the app, I could understand. But if I
shut down properly, it should release it cleanly. Interestingly, I closed
Inventor and Autocad 15-20 minutes ago and it no longer lists me as holding
a seat (like it *should* do).
=============================
I've searched this group briefly already. I ran across this thread,
http://discussion.autodesk.com/thread.jspa?threadID=448693, which looks
promising. Is this my best option ?? Is the behavior we're seeing typical ??
