Moving this thread from autocadlt.2002general to here as it seems more
appropriate.
I store all my dwg files on a separate Win 98 PC in my basic peer-peer
network. Unfortunately there have been occasions when this pc or the network
has failed whilst a dwg file was open. The result of this is that the file
becomes locked by the OS and can only be opened as read-only. On the plus
side it can always be "saved as" so that I can continue to work on a new
version of the drawing.
The problem is that I now have a collection of redundant locked dwg files
cluttering up my HD and would like to delete them. On checking the file
attributes they are not set as read only yet I cannot delete them and am
warned that "the file is in use by another person" (it isn't). Rebooting
makes no difference either nor can I delete within a DOS session.
This is hardly an earth shattering problem, but it is becoming an annoyance
so would appreciate any guidance.
