We have five floating licenses on our NT Server network. The pc's have NT

computer, it shows me that only 3 of the 5 licenses are in use. This came
from nowhere and happened all of a sudden. Anyone know what could be
    causing this?

    Scott,
I realize that this may seem too simple of a reply, but this happened
to one of our users last week. He had a network hickup and his
machine lost its connection with the server temporarily. I tried
everything that has been suggested to you. I overlooked the simplest
    scenario.
Check the date and the time on the problem computer. On our machine,
the date had moved forward 2 days and this was what was causing the
problem with the liscense server. Good luck.

One other thing that can cause this is your default gateway setting. If the
AdLM server is on a remote segment and the default gateway setting is
pointing to the ISDN connection, the request is going to go out the ISDN
gateway, not to the route to the AdLM server. Make sure that you can ping
the AdLM server by hostname and try setting the ACADSERVER variable using
the @ prefix. Make sure that the variable value is set to the proper case.
This should be lower case with TCP/IP and is NOT the same as the name you
see when browsing the network (that is the netbios name, often the same as
the TCP/IP name but in different case).

Not sure how to set the ACAD Server variable. I can ping the ADLM server by
hostname. I think your on the right track. It does seem odd that after the
ISDN is installed, all of a sudden he can't connect. Can you tell me more
about setting the ACAD Server variable?

Environment variables are set in different ways, depending on your operating
system. Go to the AutoCAD Product Support knowledgebase search page and
enter ACADSERVER as the keyword. The first three documents to list describe
how to set variables on the different Windows versions.

The knowledgebase page is located at:
