FLEXnet License Transfer Utility Causes Crashes - Revit 2012

I can't access my licensed version of Revit 2012 because it crashes my computer when starting the utility. The adskflex_00691b00_event.log is listed below.  Can someone tell me, if there is a fix for this. I have determined that it is not a hardware problem.  I don't get a crash, if the FLEXnet utility is turned off, but then I can't use the software. Please I have a deadline to meet.

Stop using the LTU, you probably don't need to use it if your usage falls within the bounds of the EULA.

What the hell is LTU !  Don't assume we are all experts.

My apologies for being ignorant of the acronyms.  We are a small start-up firm and have one Stand Alone License which allows us to transfer the license between 2 computers. The License Transfer Utility is one reason we chose Revit.

I assume this is because you have two users trying to share between one license.  The LTU (License Transfer Utility) is not a perfect program.  It's rather the opposite.  If and when it works, consider it equal to winning the lottery.

If you want a solution to share a seat between multiple computers, the best course of action is to pay a one-time network license activation fee.  That will solve your problem forever.

PAY, PAY, PAY, that's always the solution.  A software of this type could not be that hard to get right.  Your answer is not a solution to my problem. I'm a newby to this forum, but doesn't Autodesk ever chime in for support?

It's my professional advice.  A network activation is cheap and one-time and doesn't affect your upgrade or Subscription renewal.  The benefits greatly outweigh the cost.  You can install to infitinte machines and share the single license among them and even borrow it offsite.  It's something to seriously consider.  Why anybody even uses stand-alone licensing is beyond me these days.

Will you loan me the money? How much does it cost? I don't have anymore money. This is still not a solution. Do you work for Autodesk?

Sorry, I am not a loan shark.  Smiley Very Happy You'll have to contact your reseller for pricing.  It's not that much.  It'll get you fixed right up.  And no, I do not work for Autodesk.

Thanks for the help.  We are using the LTU to work remotely from home. I have now determined that this was a hardware problem.  The solid state hard drive is broken.  So much for solid state drives being more reliable.

Ahhhh, yeah I hear you.  You do realize that the EULA allows for you to have an additional activation of your license for this purpose?  You might just be able to do away with the LTU altogether.  You'd still have to use it to transfer between computers at work if there are other users.  But as for your one seat at your desk, you are allowed one additional activation for this purpose.

I seem to be having a simular, but different problem with Pro Inventor 2012.  I've had the program installed and working for ome time, but now it wont staer.  All my other Autodesk open just fine, but when I try to open Inventor pro 2012 I get the splash screen for about 30 seconds then it just goes away.  Every time I try and run it I get a new entry in adskflef_NUMBER._event.log:

Task manager shows FLEXnet Licensing Service 64 as stopped.

I've never moved the license or work in a networked license environment.  Just run this plain jane.

Is my problem related to this?

Correction, same problem with schetchbook designer 2012

OK, figured it out.   I had to turn FLESnet licensing services on in the control panel's "Services" button" and activate the licensing service.
