Error starting FlexLM

Am having problems w/ server (NT 4.0 SP6) that had FLexLM operating and
functioning on it. After installing SamLite on same server FlexLM service
disappeared as a service and errors indicating ....

"%1 not a valid Windows NT application"

were returned anytime the service was tried to restart. This also occurred
to several other services such as BackupExec and PCAnywhere. Am not sure if
installation of SamLite actually caused all this or if it was just
coincidental that this was noticed at this time.

IT had me uninstall SamLite and FlexLM. Have re-installed FlexLM but am
still getting the same error message when trying to restart the service.

Anybody have any ideas on what I'm facing or what could be causing this?

Thanks in advance,

Jim L.

Hi Jim,

I don't run into this often but I think I know what is wrong.

Look for a hidden file c:\program. If you find it (I bet you will) delete
it.

PRIOR to restarting FLEXlm, edit yout options file and quote the path and
file name of your report log file.

So, SAMreport itself did not cause this. If you have spaces in the report
log path or file name you must enclose them in quotes. If you do not,
FLEXlm stops reading the value of REPORTLOG when it hits the first space.
Windows gets really upset with the \programs file that results.
