Error loading arx with Acad2002

Hi,

While trying to get everything to work with AutoCAD 2002 and Windows 2000 I
got an strange error message while trying to load an arx from Netware server

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Command: arx

Enter an option [?/Load/Unload/Commands/Options]: l
Error code (0x20) The process cannot access the file because it is being
used
by another process.

AcRxDynamicLinker failed to load 'M:\ACAD\PID\WHOHAS.ARX'
C:\Program Files\AutoCAD 2002\acad.exe
Command
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
-

With AutoCAD R14 everything works. Is 2002 not supported in Windows 2000
client / Netware environment?

I´m using Microsoft client for Netware. The same happens with every arx I
try to open from the network. Opening from local disk works.

Is there anybody else having the same problem?

Regards,
Juha Hanninen

I don't know if this will help but have you tried marking the file as shareable in netware???

Yes, I tried that, but it didn't help.

The strange thing is that everything works with R14! Autodesk seems to have
changed the way AutoCAD opens files.

Did you ever find an answer to your trouble with loading ARX files?

We're experiencing a similar problem.

We've moved files to a W2K server and removed Novell's Client32.
We see the following error:
AcRxDynamicLinker failed to load - ACADSTAR.ARX

Trying to load it manaully doesn't work.

Trying to load it from the original Netware server does NOT work (yes, it's flagged shareable)

Any ideas appreciated.

Please respond via email too as I don't frequent these news groups. (I'm just desperate for a solution 😉 Thanks.
