I have 45 students running Inventor 2011. They have all been able to get their license from the license server when booting Inventor with no problems until yesterday. One student cannot launch Inventor on her computer - the error code and message " Error -5.412.0 A valid license could not be obtained by the network license manager" shows up every time.
Actions to date:
Reboot her computer - same
Reboot the license server - same
Had her log on and run Inventor from several other computers in the lab - She CAN do this. It is only on her assigned computer that she gets the error message.
Logging in as administrator, I CAN launch Inventor on her assigned computer.
Other students CAN launch Inventor for her computer.
Only she gets the error message on her assigned computer.
Any help greatly appreciated.

Please try to delete the file cascadeinfo,cas
http://usa.autodesk.com/getdoc/id=TS13894457
if this doesnt help, please try check antivirus/firewall etc.. locally. also if there is ipv6 enabled locally, please try to disable it.

I'm a bit late, but I'm having the same problem, and deleting the .cas file does not help. I've tried turning the firewall on and off, but it doesn't seem to help. The license file shows up correctly in lmgtools, and Autodesk Algor works fine but I can't get Inventor Professional to acquire a license.
Any suggestions?

Did it work before ?
usually this error means this particular feature license is not available on the server
you can get verbose log to figure out the request from client

Yes, it did. All I did was to install lmtools on another workstation, generate a new license file and re-install the product here instead.
I'll try this.

Hi,
What it says is this:
"Flexnet licensing error: License server system does not support this feature.
Feature [featurename]
Flexnet licensing error: 18,147"
When I close it, another one appears with a new feature name, all associated with Inventor Professional.

Please check your license file here to verify those feature codes, coming up in the error
if you dont have it, please get a new one.
you could also see it in License server status (might not look as nice as the link above)

Ok, this is what it says:
| 4 | Subscription Package: Autodesk Algor Simulation Professional | 85526ASPRO_F | 31-Jan-2011 | permanent | |
| Autodesk Algor Simulation Professional 2011 | 85593ASPRO_2011_0F | ||||
| 85508ASPRO_2010_0F | |||||
| 1 | Subscription Package: Autodesk Algor Simulation MES | 85525ASMES_F | 31-Jan-2011 | permanent | |
| Autodesk Algor Simulation MES 2011 | 85592ASMES_2011_0F | ||||
| 85507ASMES_2010_0F | |||||
| 6 | Subscription Package: Inventor Professional | 64800INVPRO_F | 31-Jan-2011 | permanent | |

| Autodesk Inventor Professional 2009 | 59600INVPRO_2009_0F | ||||
| Inventor Professional 2008 | 55300INVPRO_2008_0F |
It seems that Inventor decided to startk working, but I still get an error message for "85573INVBUN", "85635FSDPRM_20110_F", "85569INVPRO_2011_0F", "85571INVPROSIM_2011_0F", "85575INVMFG_2011_0F" when starting it.

if you remove the diagnostics variable, errors should go away; its just showing the cascading order.
Did you do anything to fix the issue ?

I regenerated the license file. This time, I just pasted the entire text information that I was given into the .lic file instead of only appending the INCREMENT sections (it said to do so on the site). For some reason, this helped.
Thanks.
