Error 2738, despite all efforts!

Hello,

I have been trying to install Autocad 2014 and 2013 64-bit in English on my pc and no matter what I do I get "Error 2738."  There is no description as to what the error is, that is all the window says.  I tried several things:

- I followed the steps on this page http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/ps/dl/item?siteID=123112&id=15102758&linkID=9240617 and registered the VBScript, and when that did not work I tried the next step on that page which was to unregister and re-register the DLL as the administrator.  Still I got Error 2738.

- After following those steps, I tried downloading the 2013, still "Error 2738."

- I did some more research and found this Microsoft Fix It: http://upandready.typepad.com/up_and_ready/2012/10/error-2738-could-not-access-vbscript-run-time-for....  I downloaded that but still got "Error 2738."

- Finally, I double checked all of the system requirements and everything on my PC meets the requirements listed on the autodesk download page.

Please help!  I don't know what else I can try!  If there is any other information that might make my problem more clear please let me know.

Thanks in advance!

Kara

Welcome to the community.  I give you respect for searching.

Have you tried updating it?

That might not be applicable to you.  You could try this advanced fix if you haven't already:

Hi Travis,

Thanks so much for your reply! I should have said this in my original post, but I have Windows 7 so unfortunately your first suggestion does not apply since it is for Windows XP. As for your second suggestion, I am not sure I understand exactly what that does. To be honest I am not even sure how to be certain that everything is backed up. I am on a computer that has access to several shared drives and I don't want to lose access to this by making all of those changes...am I worrying about things that would be unaffected?

Thanks again!!!
