Error 1325. "student username" is not a valid short file name

When a student launches AutoCAD they get error message:  Error 1325. "username" is not a valid short file name.

This is true for all students who have a username with 9 alphanumeric characters.

However, when I launch it with my student test account named "test" it will launch just fine.  Also, it launches okay using my domain Admin and local Admin accounts.

Seeing as how it works with my student test account I don't think it's a permissions issue because that account mirrors the actual student accounts in regard to rights and restrictions.

Any help would be appreciated.

I have a user with the exact same problem. Installed as Administrator, runs fine. When he uses test user account 'ohsteststudent' he gets 1325 'ohsteststudent' is not a valid short file name. The exact same user account works fine with AutoCAD 2011, but fails on 2013. If we use 'test' then it fails on 'Documents' which is mapped to a network server. Is it possible that AutoCAD does not support remapping of 'Documents' etc to a network share via UNC? The admin login is 'Tech' so same 4 characters as 'test' but Tech works fine while 'test' does not.
