Error 1.5,-18

Trying to install ADT 07 and Civil3d 07.

we have both licences (network) and are only able to use one program at a time. The second always returns "A valid license could not be obtained by the network license manager. Try Again"

I checked the log files and this is what i see. I have no idea what to make of it (no idea what anything in the log file means..)

Error -18 means that the License server system does not support this feature.

Chances are that for some reason the program can't find the license available on the server.

I notice you are running two license files for both products. This is not the best way to do this. You should really combine your license files into one .LIC file and run them under a single service. That'll probably fix your problem.

Just copy the INCREMENT line down for the Civil and paste it under the ADT License. No need to duplicate the PLIST one either, since it will be the same on both. That is only for license rollover.

To clarify...

Combine your two license files into one single file. It should now look something like this (private information not shown in this example):

Note that the header doesn't need to be copied, only the Increment line and the encrypted code with it (not shown here.)

On the Config Services tab, configure your LMTOOLS so that it points to this new license file. You want to configure the LMTOOLS to Use Services (not use License File.) Make sure both boxes are checked then Save the service. You can pull down the box for your second service if it exists and delete the data in it. No need to run two services, just FlexLM Service 1.

Start the Service and check the Server Status. You should see both license files are recognized. The problem should be resolved.

Hi,
I had the same error yesterday.
I am using an option file with several groups.
The Group ACADUSERS did not work, although i added the feature correctly.
After experimenting with that option file, it worked as soon as i moved the line containing the definition to the beginning of the option file.
I had no time to check, but in my opinion there is any - in notepad invisible - character in the option file that causes the problem. I will check with Uedit and post the result when happened.

once we combined the licenses as per the autodesk instructions both programs work ok.
