Error [0.0.0] on fresh Navisworks Manage 2011 install

When we decided to upgrade to 2011, we decided that we would purchase a server license with two floating seats for Navisworks.  Before then, we had simply purchased two stand alone seats.  Now, we've installed the license manager on our server and Navisworks on various machines, and though the logs seem to say that everything is up and running, we still get the error: A valid license could not be obtained from the license manager.  Error [0.0.0].

I have read through the forums and have checked data and time, which are all synchronized through our time server.  I've followed the instructions carefully we received from Autodesk for installing the clients:

"You will need to select the CONFIGURE button to change that to Network.  When you make that change, an additioanl component will appear asking for the server model (yours is single server) and for the server name (put in swrcacad -- no back slashes).  Since we know that there is a service pack available, we are going to recommend that you continue stepping through the configure process and include the service pack in the installation."

The odd thing is, I did not notice any place to add in the service pack during installation, so I don't know if that might be part of the problem. Also, I receive a message during installation that the Product Key may be correct but cannot be validated.

Other details: the license manager is installed on a Windows Server 2008 box, and the client error keeps popping up on Windows XP, XP-64bit, and Windows 7 64bit.  I've attached the log files that are commonly asked for.

Thank you,

On the Server

if you have ipv6 on the 2008 server (which is by default) please install the patch from here

http://usa.autodesk.com/getdoc/id=DL10976858

Make sure firewall allows TCP port 2080 and 27000-2009

on client Machines

Using Iternet explorer Please try http://swrcacad:2080, if you get a response (it could be any characters)

Please try to add system environment variable

ADSKFLEX_LICENSE_FILE with the value @swrcacad or  @ipaddress of swrcacad)

http://usa.autodesk.com/getdoc/id=TS71384

if you dont get any response when using Internet explorer and the link above, please disable local antivirus and firewall.

I have installed the patch.  I also tested from a client PC if port 2080 is open, and it is.  When I open IE and enter "http://swrcacad:2080" I receive a page with "Wê-60Wê-60Wê-60Wê-60Wê-60Wê-60Wê-60Wê-60".  If I do this from Firefox, it asks to open a file named "", which is an octet file, with a title of random characters followed by a .1-part.

I have added the system environment variable ADSKFLEX_LICENSE_FILE, and I have tried it with both @swrcacad and @ipaddress (actual ip, not "ipaddress").  We still receive the error [0.0.0] whenever we try to open up Navisworks Manage.

Are you sure you have Navis works manage license on the sever. ? Status doesn't show it any *NAVMAN* license or anything it can cascade to.

if you look at the server log it might show more errors.

if you are sure that you have the license for navis Manage.

please try

do you have a licpath.lic file in the Navisworks manage folder ? if yes, please check the license server name is correct.

Please post the %programdata%\Autodesk\adlm\*adlm.log here

additionally you can verify the license  using the flexlm diagnostics variable

I have a .LIC file in the Navisworks Manage folder, and it is pointed at swrcacad.  The origianl hostid was given as 12 0's, and I changed that to the hostid of swrcacad.  Shoud that have been left as 0's?

But you're right in that our license file doesn't mention Manage specifically.  We have a license for Navisworks Simulate 2011, which includes in its install both Freedom and Manage (the former, of course, not needing a license).  I set the diagnostic environment variable FLEXLM_DIAGNOSTICS as per the link you gave me, and the error messages I received implied that Manage was not something supported by the license on swrcacad.

Since I seem to be unable to locate any of the log files you want, I'm simply going to write in here the error I receive now when I start Manage:

FLEXnet licensing checkout error: License server does not suppor this feature.

Feature: 85600NAVMAN_2011_OF

License Path: @xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx;C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Navisworks Manage 2011\LICPATH.LIC

FLEXnet Licensing error: -18,47

So why would a license for Simulate (which contains Manage in its installation package) not work for Manage?

Navis Manage would need separate license.

Okay, after doing a little research, it seems that the install we were giving was indeed for Manage, and not for Simulate.  Until now, I had assumed that Manage and Freedom were packaged under the title of Simulate, not that Simulate was something different from Manage.  I'll look into to seeing how we were given the Manage install, and see about getting the proper installation files.   Thank you for your help.
