DirectX® Runtime Failed Failure is ignored, Result=1619

I'm trying to run a fresh install, (Win7 x64) network version and continue to get the message that .net 4.0 is not installed.

I checked windows updates and it's listed, along with installing from MS site .net 4.0 to which it gives me the option ot repair or remove, I repair and that finishes.

I've rebooted the pc and started to install autocad 2012 again, with the same message and end result of failed install and this failure in the log

DirectX® Runtime Failed Failure is ignored, Result=1619

    Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks

    ctsautocad,

The correct error message you're getting is 1603 with AutoCAD Electrical according to the error log you posted.

    CTS166-PC Install AutoCAD® Electrical 2012 Failed Installation aborted, Result=1603

Looking through the rest of the log, it appears you're having an issue with Ngen. To resolve this issue do the following:

You will need the following application to resolve this issue:

ORCA (program allows you to modify an MSI file)

    Orca Download

If you have a thumb drive or DVD, you will need to copy the contents onto your hard drive.

    1. Navigate to the location of the installation files
    2. Navigate to the x64 folder
    3. Find the application folder:
      • INSTALLFILES\X64\Acade
      • Right-Click the acad.msi file and choose “Edit with Orca”

Once Orca is opened, navigate to the “CustomAction” table

Notice on the right side panel under Action, there are a number of action items. Select each of the following items and right-click and choose “Drop Row”

    • InstallPreJit
    • NgenCreate
    • NgenCreateRollback
    • NgenDelete
    • NgenDeleteRollback
    • UninstallPreJit

Go to File > Save. Than close the Orca application.

    Install AutoCAD Electrical.

    Darin,

I know this is an old post, but thought I'd reply anyway in hopes of an explanation.  I've looked through the log file posted and cannot find any reference to ngen.  Can you explain how you were able to come to this conclusion?

    Hi Brandon,

I vaguely remember the steps I took to figure this out, but it literally took me over 5 hours of looking through logs, event viewer, and online research. I do product support for a reseller “Synergis Engineering Design Solutions” and we encounter hundreds of cases relating to the roll back issues with AutoCAD Arch, MEP, Mechanical, and Electrical which I decided to dedicated almost an entire day to finding a solution. One of the main causes of those issues stemmed from the new way AutoCAD vertical applications are now installed—For example, If AutoCAD 2013 is already installed, and now you install AutoCAD Architecture, it will not install another instance of AutoCAD as it did in the past but instead install the missing components in a sub directory of the AutoCAD.

Some of this information as well as another issue relating to NGEN.exe, use the following link:
    http://upandready.typepad.com/up_and_ready/2012/10/error-ngenexe-and-installing-any-autocad-product....

I know I didn’t fully answer your question, but I can’t remember exactly what lead me to that solution.

    Darin,

I figured there was more involved in determining the cause that wasn't obvious by looking at the log file exclusively.

    Thanks for the explanation.
