Debug.log gains weight!

I got a call on my way to work that no one could get an AutoCAD license from the server....turns out the debug.log file had grown to 4GB in size and filled the boot drive. Uh oh.

I stopped the license server, deleted debug.log, and now it is back to a manageable size. Wish I had saved it to see what got it in such a pickle but I was in a rush to get the users back to a happy place.

Anyone seen this behavior? I will keep my eye on it, just wonder why the file is allowed to grow to such portly proportions anyway.

Thanks,

- Richard

"The path to the debug log is usually set using lmtools.exe>Config Services>Path to the debug log file but if the vendor deamon is restarted the debug log will be overwritten."

I think since I deleted my debug.log I can't really find out what was going on. The above seems to indicate that the file should have been overwritten as the server has been restarted recently but the file was gaining weight faster than Rosie in Ghirardelli's. I think this was likely related to setting up 2008 images on the server but that's just a guess.

I am monitoring it and will see what happens when I restart the server next time.

Btw I use SmartPurger and it's terrific.
