Convert from Standalone to Network License

I have a standalone version of AutoCAD 2006 and want to license instead via our License Server.

I have exported the license to another workstation via the Portable License utility. Uninstalled AutoCAD 2006 from the original workstation. Reinstalled AutoCAD 2006 on the original workstation using a Network Deployment install set. Set the ADSKFLEX_LICENSE_FILE environment variable to point to a valid license server.

When loading AutoCAD 2006 on the original workstation it reports an error that the license has been exported and must be imported before the software can be used. (It does give me 24 hours grace period.)

How do I force AutoCAD 2006 to use the license server and disable the standalone checking?

Thanks.

No problem. That wasn't really a solution, but I spent a good amount of time with several people who I feel are very qualified and that's the conclusion we came up with. Plus, the hack will be going away with the 2009 release so what's the point?

I just installed AutoCAD 2009 and the registry fix still works.

Really? I got a bunch of problems when I did that. I was told by Autodesk
that it would be like this but maybe they made some changes in last second
anyway.

When you originally installed you AutoCAD, which license did you install - the Standalone or Network?

I got these details:
Using the registry hack, the cascading licensing service doesn’t install, so
cascading will not work, if you install network version then PLU doesn’t
install and user will not be able to transfer his license.
