Concurrent Stand Alone with Network License

We currently have two Divisions utilizing AutoCAD Civil 3D. One is using a Network license model with multiple seats, the other has been using the Stand-Alone model. The last round of renewals for AutoCAD Civil 3D 2009 unintentionally resulted in converting the stand-alone licenses into new seats for the Network licenses.

The users previously using stand-alone licenses have AutoCAD 2008 (stand-alone) and do not mind using the network seats.

Will there be any issues with having AutoCAD Civil 3D 2008 with a stand-alone license installed concurrently with AutoCAD Civil 3D 2009 with a network license?

Also, we are looking at moving forward with all users on the Network model, although the two Divisions would prefer to reserve their purchased seats for their respective Divisions' users. We currently have the License Manager using one flexLM service. How would this be setup most appropriately?

1. able to setup another flexLM service for the other Division?
2. another License Manager instance? We would like to have both Divisions' licenses hosted on the same server?
3. some type of reservation file?

I would greatly appreciate any assistance or suggestions in these matters. Thank you.

No issues with having AutoCAD Civil 3D 2008 with a stand-alone license
installed concurrently with AutoCAD Civil 3D 2009 with a network license.

If you have all licenses available for both divisions you will be able to
utilize the licenses best especially if you have TIMEOUTALL activated in the
options file.

If you really want to separate the divisions the easiest thing is to have
two servers but you can also have the OPT file do the job but it requires a
bit of work.

If you want you can also take a look at JTB FlexReport as it can report the
usage of the two divisions separately.
