Civil 3D functionality missing

Hello,

I installed Civil 3D three weeks ago and it's been working fine on my computer. Today I went to the Add/Remove programs utility within Windows XP SP3 in order to see if all of the files had been installed. I clicked to change/add features and I noticed that the AutoLISP tutorial hadn't been installed, so I checked the box(this was the only change I made) and told the system to install it. The next thing I know, my Civil 3D icon had been removed from the desktop and when I go to the start menu the only functionality I have is to run Civil 3D as AutoCAD 2010. I tried doing a reinstall from the Civil 3D setup utility (from Add/Remove programs) but this did not restore it. I even searched for the executable within the Program Files folder but could only find acad.exe, which is the file pointed to from the "Run Civil 3D as AutoCAD 2010" shortcut. What happened and how do I restore Civil 3D functionality?

Thanks,
Ryan

Hi Ryan

I cannot explain why the Civil 3D shortcut disappear from your desktop. But in this case, the best thing to do, it to recreate one.
Create a Desktop shortcut, in the properties, set the following target, depending in the profile you want to use:
"C:\Program Files\AutoCAD Civil 3D 2010\acad.exe" /ld "C:\Program Files\AutoCAD Civil 3D 2010\AecBase.dbx" /p "<<C3D_Imperial>>"
"C:\Program Files\AutoCAD Civil 3D 2010\acad.exe" /ld "C:\Program Files\AutoCAD Civil 3D 2010\AecBase.dbx" /p "<<C3D_Metric>>"
