Cascading Licenses - AMEP and Revit Systems Series r2011

I have 54 AutoCAD MEP licenses 16 Revit Systems Series licenses. I recently hit my max of 54 AMEP, it was my understanding that in that event, it would pull a 'more valuable' Revit Systems license. But that did not happen, my users were just denied usage. In theory, 70 engineers should be able to request AMEP licenses at one time (54+16) assuming none are in Revit.

Below is a screenshot of our AutoCAD information as well as the latest license report confirming my theory and finally is our network license file.

*** Id really like to get the cascading working, hopefully without uninstall/reinstall of any software *** any help is greatly appreciated!

Cascading can be kind of wonky at times. Your setup should work because it seems that you've done everything right. Here's what I suggest, however, to possibly get this working.

1. Cascading had some weird issues with 2012. So you might consider upgrading to your 2013 Subscription .LIC file. This will allow you to run 2013, 2012, 2011, and 2010. Just make sure both serials are generated on the same date or the cascade will not work.

2. Upgrade your License Manager files to the latest version: http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/Installation-Licensing/Autodesk-Network-License-Manager-2013/m-p/33873...

3. Place the Revit MEP above the AutoCAD MEP in the new combined license order of the new file. Order sometimes helps the cascade issues for some reason.

4. Delete the CascadeInfo.cas file on the clients with the problem. This file facilitates cascading. It will be recreated upon the next successful launch. http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/ps/dl/item?siteID=123112&id=13894457&linkID=12305695

The reason I recommend the new 2013 LIC file has a couple of good reasons. One, the cascading seems to work better for 2013 licenses than the 2012 licenses did. The other reason is that your new LIC file will not have the old PLIST Increment that was used to cascade older licenses. Sometimes this causes additional issues for cascading.
