Cannot download AutoCAD 2013 for students (Mac version)

Hello!

Thanks for student opportunity to learn how to use your products.

I've registered using my student info but when I try to download Autocad 2013 for Mac the download crashes. I tried tried different browsers (Chrome, FF), OS (Mac, Win, Linux) and even Internet providers. Download still crashes.

How can I download it?

Thanks.

Hi svetlana,

Welcome to the Autodesk forum community.

I wish to check if you manage to try other download method?

Please check this link.

1. Downlaod Now

2. Browser Download

3. Install Now

Thank you.

I have had the same problem. The only option given is to do a browser download. The download gets about half way then finishes but does not fully complete. The disk image downloaded will not open. I have also tried downloading in multiple browsers.

Hi Benjamin,

A typical workaround for this sort of issue is to download the software on another computer and then transfer the .exe installer file over with an external hard drive, thumb drive, DVD etc...

As you're already here I can provide you with a 24hr timed direct download link which might resolve the problem (if it doesn't, please try the afore mentioned transfer method), of which I'll be sending you via Private Message.

I'd like to add to this.  The image "Browser Download" does nothing in either Safari or Firefox.  You can click on it a hundred times and nothing will ever happen.

Can you please provide an actual link for Macs since the 'Download Manager' and 'Install Now' are PC only solutions.

There is otherwise no way to start the download process.

Thanks in advance.

Alex

Hi alexander and welcome to the forums.

Here's a direct download link for AutoCAD for Mac 2013:

AutoCAD for Mac 2013

Please, not that this link is temporary and will expire in 72 hours.

I've tested the Browser Download option using Firefox and it worked fine for me:

Hi Sabrina,

Did you know you can now get direct download links from Matt, our Virtual Agent?

Click here to read more about it and give it a try:)

I have the same problem: Autocad 2013 for Mac "Browser Download" doesn't work in either Firefox or Safari. I've tried all the suggestions above, and I always get back to the download site which includes the "Browser Download" button that doesn't work. By now, I'd have a serial number and product key. But, that's very little use if I can't get the software.

It is very surprising that a company like Autodesk can't get its act together in order to provide people with download links that actually link to downloads. I'm hoping that I will get a reply to this post, and that the reply is not as useless as the last post from Autodesk in this threat. Otherwise, it'll have to be Freecad for me...

That'd be a pity because I did have a good experience with Autocad when I used the program some years ago.

My apologies for the inconvenience Alex.

I've just tested all 3 hosted public download locations (excluding the Subscription Center) and confirmed that the AutoCAD for Mac 2013 download is functioning as designed. Possibly an internet securities issue and or pop up blocker on your end that is preventing the download from initiating? Can you try adding autodes.com to your list of trusted sites?

I am having trouble opening the downloaded file. I get a message that Sifari can not open the file ??

What application do I need to open the downloaded file?

21st Nov 2013

Hello,

I am hoping that someone may be able to help me or offer some advice please?

I have followed all of the relevant steps supplied by my tutor to download the student version of AutoCAD for a Mac with the OS X 10.6.8 version. I have registered with Autodesk, however when I get to the options to download AutoCAD it is only giving me the Windows 32 or 64 bit option. I can download a free 30 day trial for the Mac, but not the three year student package. Can anyone point me in the right direction please?

Many thanks in advance, from an ever hopeful student!

Hi Nikki,

AutoCAD for Mac is a different product than AutoCAD for PC. As such, it is displayed separately on the Education Community:

I hope this helps!

Hi there,

Thanks so much for your immediate response to my enquiry. I hope you don't
mind me asking, but please could you send me a link to the AutoCAD for Mac
users section because, I have searched and cannot find it.

This is the link (below) that I have been provided with by my Tutor, but as
you can see it only offers the PC versions.

http://www.autodesk.com/education/free-software/autocad

Many thanks again for your time and help.

Best wishes, Nikki
