    Hello Jordi

I've seen other cases where this error occurs when the update fails to find the original install files.  If you installed from a DVD, you may want to pop it into the DVD player and then try running the update again.  If that doesn't resolve the problem, please post the install log file associated with the update (it should be located in the Windows temp directory) and I can see if it holds any clues.

    Hi,

I am having a similar problem, I have Revit 2013 (student version) and cannot install the update. I have followed the instructions on the Autodesk website and as it is the student version it is downloaded from the student centre. The message I get is as follows:

"The Update Release could not be installed because the expected Autodesk product could not be located on your computer. Make sure that you are using the correct Update Release fro the product."

Any help would be appreciated - crashes when doing floors and filled regions is driving me crazy.

    Regards,

    Matt

    Hi,

I managed to figure it out - I forgot I did the OneBox install. Installed the correct update and all sorted.

    Cheers,

    Matt

Yea this was wrecking my head. There are two different download sites –

    Revit standalone:

    Update 1: http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/ps/dl/item?siteID=123112&id=20121970&linkID=9273944

    Update 2: http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/ps/dl/item?siteID=123112&id=20679231&linkID=9273944

as part of the design suite

    update 1: http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/ps/dl/item?siteID=123112&id=20121968&linkID=16831210

    update 2: http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/ps/dl/item?siteID=123112&id=20679039&linkID=16831210

Depending on which you have installed one will work – the other you get ‘cannot install as expected Autodesk product cannot be located on your computer’ error message

Autodesk should make this known on both pages. Would avoid needless confusion and frustration.

I made a copy of the dvd from the network to my local drive. (for a faster installation) Later on I removed the install files from my local drive. That's the problem.... You've to leave the original install files on it's original place. ( I restored them from the recycle bin......and problem solved)
