Blue screen when I start any autodesk products

I am having touble running any autodesk products. When I click the link for Max or Maya the program starts but before it could even get far enough starting I crash to Blue Screen.  I eventually deleted all autodesk products and deleted all references to them. I installed a trial version of max 2013 thinking it was something to do with my version of max and I got the same problem. I even downloaded and installed all of the updates of 2013 and got the same problem. I have uninstalled and re installed graphic drivers for my nvidia 580 Gt card with no luck. I even tried diabeling Flex lic utility. I renamed the .cas file and tried restarting with no fix.... I am at a loss.

When I run in safe mode I get the arror " the software license checkout failed error 20"

I recvently bought and installed drivers for a 24inch cintiq, g13 keypad, some headset... I doubt that has anything to do with it.

I had installed an educational/unemployed version of Max. Then once I got a job I installed individual work licenses of a 3ds max 2012. I am not certian but remember it working when I installed the work version at home.  I wonder if that messed up my licensing.

blue screens are usually caused by a driver failure or a hardware failure

yes but why autodesk products? I can run zbrush4r4 , 3d coat, battlefield 3 any, movies, etc without any issues. And why is it in safe mode that I get a license error?

try looking up the blue screen error code and that will give you a starting point

OK I got them  my blue screen error is: Stop 0x00000050 (0xfffff880f622d910,0x00000000000000001,0xfffffa800d7f72e6,0x0000000000000005)

Nvida is telling me. For using applications like Autodesk Maya and Max the Quadro series of graphics cards are recommended there is a list of graphics cards that are tested and certified by the application developer for the best performance with the application however the GeForce GTX 580 graphics card is not one of the cards which are tested and certified by the application developer so the application may or may not work with this graphics card

I have used this machine with the GTX 580 to run 3ds max 2011 and 2012 before. I have read on line folks have used the card just fine with 3ds max.

Thanks,

Tommy,

As Darren mentioned Blue Screens are usually caused by drivers or hardware but can also be caused by virus's see this previous post.

The licensing error when you are in Safe Mode is because none of the licensing services are running.

Thanks,

Danny

Tommy,

Hello. First, make sure you are using the right driver.

Blue screens are blue frustrations, certainly. When the blue screen appears, besides the numbers and code, does it mention a module or driver? This is the best tell. If it mentions a driver, run a Google search to see where the source of the error is located. You can check the Windows Event viewer in the Control Panel. This may list a failure.

Do you have an onboard graphics card and a separate card? I would see if you could uninstall one or the other and check to see if the behavior improves- it may.

Next, I would be looking to turn off Hardware acceleration. This can be done in multiple places, usually, depending on your OS and the graphics card.

You can usually turn this off in the program options, in the Nvidia Control panel, and Windows may have a hardware acceleration option as well. Turn them off and test.

If you have a 3d mouse or tablet, it would be worth uninstalling to test as well.

Thank you all for trying to help me out.

The fix was to reinstall windows. I saw a svchost.exe on my windows root folder. Doing my research I foud out it was a virus. I tried a Malwares which saw it over my Mcafee antivirus but was un able to rid me of it completly. I decided to bite the bullet and re install. I am activated and stariing at the welcome screen for 3dmax version 2012.

I understand that the prefered video card is a quadro series. I do not doubt that owning one would make my autodesk experience better. However, the artist at our social game studio as well as my buddies studio all use Geforce cards just fine.

Thank You

Tommy

if its a hardware problem a reformat is not going to fix it

so you might blue screen again
