Available licenses remaining

Hopefully this is an easy question. Running ADT3.3 with the FLEXlm is there a way to quickly get a head count of how many licenses are in use and how many are available?

Brian-
Kinda.

Launch the lmtools.exe (Start -> programs -> autodesk license manager -> tools -> lmtools.exe) click on configure using services ->
Server Status tab -> Perform Status Enquiry

The list will tell you how many licenses are available followed by a list of who is currently using the license. You have to figure
out by the # of lines how many there are in use, and you have to subtract to see how many are available. Since it involved math,
it's not that quick for me, but quick is a relative term...

Thanks. I did get that far but I was hoping there'd be a faster way.

Ya. The AdLM "winquery.exe" was a lot nicer. You just ask it to show you
the clients logged in and at the bottom is displays the total number of lics
and the number logged in.

Hi All,

You can also use the command line to get this information:
lmutil lmstat -c license3.lic -A
So, a faster way to get the information may be to write the following two
lines to a .bat file and save it to your desktop:

lmutil lmstat -c license3.lic -A
pause

Now just double click on the desktop icon.

I tried that batch file suggestion but all I keep getting at the command line is "lmtools is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file" Do I maybe need to modify it a little. Our license file is just called license.lic (no 3) and it's located on a partitioned drive labeled e, not on our c drive

Now see Jerry, you went and stole my thunder... I would have had my handy, dandy routine done before you posted if my perl sdk
hadn't expired. Since I had to do a re-write in vbs, it took me longer.

I posted a zip file to cf that contains a "utility" that "should" give you your license status (see the post license.bat by me, just
now). There are some requirements. You have to have wsh installed on the machine that you'll be running it on. Just unzip the files
to the adlm install folder and run the license.bat. You should (and I should say might) get a msgbox that lists your license status.

Wait a minute. I just figured out that the app isn't going to work if you only have one license type on the server, and it's going
to miss the last one. I'll try to revise and repost as a reply in cf.
