Autodesk Vehicle Tracking Failed to retrieve a licence

I downloaded the 64bit trial version of Autodesk Vehicle Tracking today.

I've installed the software as a 30 day trial stand-alone on top of AutoCAD Civil 3D 2014 (network license).

But when I click any of the functions from the Ribbon I get this message:

"Failed to retrieve a licence"

Please any help is welcome.

Kind regards,

Edward Winter

Okay, so the only way to test this software is to install it on a stand-alone license of AutoCAD Civil 3D.

And if I don't have one I need to download and install Civil 3D as a trial by removing my network version first. Well since I already had installed a trial of Civil 3D earlier I cannot install a stand-alone of Civil 3D anymore.

Any other suggestion is welcome.

Does Autodesk offer a trial network license? I do not have a stand-alone copy installed within the company. This software looks to be a great alternative to Transoft’s AutoTURN.

Borrowed license also didn't help.

I've found a resolution that worked for me.

I've changed the license type in the registry from network to standalone. See also: http://blog.jtbworld.com/2013/08/change-autocad-2014-from-network.html

It's not supported by Autodesk.

The license will change into a standalone which can be reverted back from standalone to network.

A pop up screen will appear where you can choose for license activation or 30 day trial.

Success and happy testing.

Hi All, I'm trying to run the trial for Autodesk Vehicle Tracking and ran into this same issue. I tried the registry workaround but it didn't work for me.

Any word from Autodesk Support on this?

Thanks

Andres

I just installed the standalone trial. The company I work purchased one network license.
