Autodesk Vault 2014 Server Installation Error

Hello,

I have Vault Basic 2013 and 2013 server installed and it has worked flawless.

Now I am trying to install Vault 2014.

Vault basic client installed without any problems but when I try to install Vault Server 2014 I get:

Error 29001 content type " expected text.xml.

Any ideas?

Best regards / H. Nilsson

Hi H. Nilsson,

even though this is pretty old but have you checked this for example:

http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/Autodesk-Vault/Error-29001-Vault-management-error/td-p/1639817

Some useuful hints which still apply.

Have you checked the installation logfile (should be in the tempfoder)?

However my personal advice for you is to uninstall IIS and .NET and let the Vault Server 2014 setup install and configure IIS and .NET

By the way: hopefully you have a backup of your previous Vault Server 2013 installation (if you need data from vault 2013).

Hi Kevin,

thanks for your response.

I will look in to the threads / tips you mentioned.

However it seems temptating to uninstall IIS and .net.

I will try this during weekend.

My Vaulted files are backed up every evening, do I need to make any further steps before reinstalling?

Best Regards / H. Nilsson

Hello,

no I don´t think so.

Maybe it is necessary to uninstall all components that Vault uses.

The components that Vault Server uses are listed here:

http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/ps/dl/item?siteID=123112&id=18562673&linkID=9261340

Besides IIS and .NET the problem might be related to SQL as well.

Thanks Kevin.,

I will give it a try during weekend.

I just took a quick look at the list of components installed by Vault server 2013 and noticed:

Microsoft MSXML6, MSXML4 installed.

.net framework 3,5, .net framework 4,5 installed.

Could this be a problem?

Hi,

it´s me again.

I have tried all your solutions but with no luck.

I even took the time to throw out my old HDD, replaced it with a new SSD drive, made a clean install and the problem remains the same!!!

Hopefully someone has a solution??

Btw after failing I installed Vault server and client 2013 and that version works perfectly.

Best regards / H. Nilsson
