Autodesk Showcase 2k11 does not work

Installed Showcase 2011 on two computers, neither of the installations does work.

On both machines I get the following error:

Showcase.exe - Application Error

The application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b) Click OK to close the application.

Both computers running Win7-64 Ultimate, latest updates.

Inventor/ACADM, Alias and Inventor Publisher runs ok on both machines.

Well, not sure, because in one line the document says to set the environment variable to the actual path.

In the next line it says that the environment variable should be "1".

There are no Environment variabels set currently for Showcase, neither in System nor User.

Disabling AV does not solve the problem.

All Autodesk software is installed in D:\Autodesk\.....

So there is no strange characters nor any spaces in the path.

There are no entries, appart from "Application PopUp"  in the Win EventViewer.

One box with Nvidia card, the other with ATI/AMD, so that can't be an issue

Both latest available

Problem, partly solved. Asd I can see it, there seems to some problem with the 5.0.1.0 install disk.

It installs both 32-bit and 64-bit , I cant remember that it was an option though.

Anyway, a complete ininstall, and installing only 64-bit (I got a derived install from my supplier with only 64-bit) seemes to solve the problem, will do the same ting on my other box on monday.

Could someone confirrm that the installer installs both 32 and64-bit on a WIN-64 system and it is workng??

it shouldn't install both versions on a 64 bit OS

it should only install the 64 bit version

Well, the installer do.

So, something is obviously wrong with the disk

Done som investigations now.

THe installer per default installs BOTH 32 and 64Bit applications in the same folder.

There is no warnings or nothing else that only one of them should be installed.

Obviously this does not work.

Manually de-selecting the 32-bit seems to work ok.

i'm having the exact same problem. When i try to run it, no matter the configuration of the shortcut, it won't launch and just after i try to, it will pop the message error and display the code "0xc000007b".

Please, i need help.

My machine has the following setup:

AMD Phenom II x4 955

Nvidia Geforce 9800gtx+

2gb Patriot DDR3 1333

750gb S.G. Barracuda v11

AsRock Motherboard (the one with 128M in the name)

Windows 7 x64 Ultimate (fully updated)

What I did, was the following

First I completly Un-installed Showcase.

Then I installed the 64-bit version only, not using the defaults (the defaults installs both 32 and 64-bitsversions).

Try this, and see if it works.
