Autodesk Alias Design educational license not working: error 110

I just downloaded the Autodesk Alias and have been unable to activate it using my educational license.  I tried toggling off Time Machine and reinstalling. Please advise. 

Edit: Also, when i try to "activate" it online through https://registeronce.autodesk.com/ it says the serial number is invalid.

If you are on Mavericks, you need to download the SP.
