Hi Jeff!
As you have a generic 1603 without a root cause for failure, there could be quite a few potential causes, many of which are listed in these numerous forum threads.
Can you try installing the application under a different user account with local admin rights, UAC off, and anti-virus disabled and let us know if it resolves the issue?

Phillip...I'm not to computer literate. I've tried a couple of the threads with no results.
Is there a specific one I should try? The log below is a result of uninstalling Microsoft C+ file.
TX
Jeff

When you uninstall AutoCAD 2013, make sure you also delete the AutoCAD 2013 program files folder. Uninstallers sometimes leave leftover files in there, especially service packs. Remove the folder and give it a clean slate to install into. That should help.
