    Hi

This is related to VC++ runtime error, reinstalling those componets should fix the issue.

    please try

I removed Vc++  using the Control Panel after making the change in the registry.

Please try to install Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable (x86) manually as described in the other post.

It is still failing on the same component.

All I can say is what a pain in the ****!

Finally got it installed. The Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable (x86) kept asking for the .msi file.

    Had to rename the key-name
    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\Products\F942F94A19C0F79468FD2B85E5E8677B to

    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\Products\-F942F94A19C0F79468FD2B85E5E8677B

    and then re-run the installer.

I hope Autodesk fixes this issue in future versions.

Glad you could fix it using the registry.

I can understand your frustration, this is a Microsoft component (runtime) which gets installed with various other programs, usually cleanly uninstalling these components and reinstalling fixes the issue.
