Autocad 2012 MEP install from share - access is denied

I am trying to install Autocad 2012 MEP from a deployment share.  I am on Windows XP and have disabled autovirus.  As soon as I click the Autodesk shortcut on the share, I get the setup initializations screen along with a dialog box saying

Access is denied.  I'm trying the work around I found mentioned copying the share to the local machine and installing.  Any other thoughts in the meantime?  Thanks!

This is a permissions problem on the Shared folder.  You will not be able to copy the deployment to another location as deployments are not portable.

If you have access to the actual DVD, you maybe able to run it from there.  The DVD can be copied to the network and be moved into any location.

Make sure your folder permissions and your share permissions both have full write access for the everyone account.  Then install with admin rights with anti-virus disabled and you shouldn't have permissions issues.  Might be beneficial to clear your %temp% folder first as well.

I do agree though that if you continue to have issues, you might have better luck just installing from media.

Generally speaking, you can't just move a deployment and have it work unless you edit the .ini file to change the path to where the installer is looking.  Otherwise it'll still point to the original location.

Thanks for the help, the folder permissions looked fine, and as I was installing with a domain admin account, I shouldn't have run into permissions issues, but in any event, I just ended up copying the media to a share and installed from that.
