Hello I recently downloaded the student AutoCad 2012 program which works fine on my laptop. I then tried to download the 2011 student AutoCad from the website but it will not open when I click on the icon. I have tried twice to download it both with the same results. I unistalled all the files before trying to reinstall it again the second time. I have Windows 7    64-bit operating system with service pack 1. It is a brand new laptop and I have nothing else on it except for these 2 AutoCad programs. I read the read me for it numerous times and it looks like I have all the system requirements.It is an Acer laptop and says there is still 7.85GB left of usable RAM.I have the newest version of Adobe Reader 9 installed. It appears to try to open when I click on it but then after it says opening autocad 2011 it closes itself immediately.Any suggestions as to why it wont open? Thanks much appreciated!

Nobody giving out the 2011anymore when 2012 is out.

I'm having the same problem. We have to use 2011 for this class I'm taking.

The 2011 version should still run on your machine even when a 2012 version is currently installed. After you have downloaded it, you were prompted to have it installed. Coudl you possibly provide us a screen shot of the error so we may have visibility? If you could provide any other detailed information, we would greatly appreciate it.

I have the same issue, trying desperately to install AutoCAD 2011, installs good, but when you try to open, it closes it's self down.  How do I fix this?????????

Sounds like a corrupted CascadeInfo.cas file.

Guru, i tried renaming the file, and then tried to start autocad again, and it shut it's self down again, and also recreated the CascadeInfo.cas file.  What else can i try????????

Let me know what is in the ADLM log file in that same folder.  You can post it here.  It may have the reason for the failure.
