AutoCAD license question

As a reluctant CAD manager, I have had great luck in getting my answers here. But my users have asked a question I couldn't answer & couldn't find:

When we upgrade our AutoCAD licenses, what happens to the old license? I think what they are fishing for is to be able to take the old version home, which I have strictly forbidden. I have told them that is illegal, but I can't find anything on the Autodesk website to back up my position. Any help?

Thanks in advance

If you are on subscription they can apply for a home use license from the subscription site.
Stand alone's have always allowed a second installation.
The means of authorization changes but it's still allowed.

Also if you are on subscription you can still run the older visions if you
whish. You're still limited to one license per-use. So you can't have one
person working in 2008 and another in 2004 using the same license.

Depends on your license agreement. For the legalese, start AutoCAD and
see Help>About...>About...>Product Information>License Agreement.
