AutoCAD Mechanical 2010 - cannot explain increased license consumption

Hello all,

we have dozens of unlimited Multiflex licenses (including all from AutoCAD to Plant3D)

running on a Flexlm license server, and additonally sufficient dedicated AutoCAD licenses.

In the last days we registered a really massive increase in AutoCAD Mechanical 2010

usage, although there are nearly no AutoCAD Mechanical installations on our clients.

In the last weeks, these AutoDesk features -listed below - have been installed on many clients.

Is it possible that one of these applications pulls an AutoCAD Mechanical 2010 license?

Any relation between these Applications and AutoCAD Mechanical licenses?

I urgently have to figure out, why there is such a significant increase in Mechanical usage

without having it installed at all.

Thanks a lot for your input!!

Installed within the last weeks:

DWG True View 2012
Navisworks Freedom 2012 SP1 64Bit
DesignReview 2012
Autodesk Navisworks Freedom 2012
Autodesk Material Library 2012
Autodesk Material Library Base Resolution Image Library 2012
Autodesk Navisworks Freedom 2012 English Language Pack
AutoCAD 2010 - English 32 and 64 bit

Thanks a lot so far!

There are more than enough licenses available, dedicated AutoCAD but also Multiflex (containing AutoCAD).

Another package recently installed : AutoCAD 2010 Subscription Advantage Pack

May this have caused the AutoCAD Mechanical license requests?

no that is just an add on to autocad

what does the flex lm log say?

 6:26:36 (adskflex) OUT: "71800AMECH_PP_2010_0F" eraxxxe@xxxxx376

no error messages in front of these entries. Now occurs really often.

Is it possible to increase the debug level, to get more information, e.g. if the license was cascaded ?

Thank you

is this causing a problem with other products?

It is not a problem concerning availability of licenses, since we have enough Multiflex licenses.

The issue is: our license fees will be calculated on our usage data , so we are interested that there is no

unneccessary check out of "expensive" licenses (e.g. AutoCAD Mechanical ). Now AutoCAD Mechanical

Usage has descreased below 10% of the peaks, so everything is ok now- nevertheless i should

understand the mechanism causing this behavior.

We have 10 Mechanical 2010 installations company-wide , but encoutered a peak with many times higher(!!)

autoCAD Mechanical 2010 licenses checked-out!
