AutoCAD MEP 2013 install failure after AutoCAD 2013 electrical trial

Recently upgraded from a "license model"  AutoCAD Mechanical 2012 to the stand-alone AutoCAD 2013 MEP. I purchased AutoCAD 2013 digitally after trying AutoCAD Electrical (demo version) for about a week.  I would like to keep AutoCAD 2012 on my computer as well as the new 2013 I just purchased if possible.

When I attempt to install I keep getting the same problems - the 1603 and 1609 errors:

InstallAutoCAD® MEP 2013 Product Specific PackFailedInstallation aborted, Result=1603

RollbackDirectX RuntimeFailedFailure is ignored, Result=1619

Running Windows 7 64 bit on a computer that ran AutoCAD 2012 just fine.  Logged in as administrator.  Rebooted

You can view my entire logfile here: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/1260771/MEP%202013%20Setup.log

I have already tried:

Still arriving at the same exact errors. Any advice?

* this may be relevant *

Since the error involved DirectX I did a dxdiag and saw the following:

DirectX Version: DirectX 11
DX Setup Parameters: Not found

When installing 2013, do not install the service pack with the installation.  That seems to be where it is failing according to your log.

As for running 2012, you cannot legally continue to do so unless you are under Subscription.
