Hello!

I get the attached error when installing autocad LT 2012. (just after running setup.exe)

(in norwegain it says: "The system cannot open the device or file specified..")

I'm using the original DVD and I have tried this on several PC's but get the same error. 

The strange thing is that I installed from this dvd a year ago, and it worked..

any help is appreciated!

sorry for late reply to this. No, it doesnt work. Drive is not encrypted. Different media tried to no use. Will check if ordering USB media helps.

Download media tried. I get the same error!

Did you already order the media of your product or do you need some help ?

Ordered new media (DVD) and downloaded media as well. Both give me the error described above.

(tried it on several domain Windows7 x64 pc's)

Please try to install the software in diagnostics mode as described here.

If it fails, Please try to run this utility from Microsoft to clean the windows installer.

Running this in safe mode was no use, as it needs the windows installer service, which isnt avaliable in safe mode..or so it says.

If it fails, Please try to run this utility from Microsoft to clean the windows installer.

This one found no errors..and therefore did nothing.

I found the solution - Ran the install in safe mode as admin, and ran this tool to get the Windows Installer service going: http://www.technibble.com/safemsi-exe-start-windows-installer-service-in-safe-mode/
