AutoCAD Inventor 2011 Install issues; AutoCAD mechanical 2011

I am having an issue where AutoCAD mechanical will not load after completing the installation of Inventor suite 2011. I go through the standard installation of Inventor suite 2011. I reboot and everything is fine. Inventor 2011 loads and runs perfectly fine. When I go to open AutoCAD mechanical 2011 it crashes. It looks like it is having issues laoding the ribbon bar. On occasion it will load but the second you click on any button the app freezes and crashes.

I have completely reinstalled and have done a repair on the app. All Windows updates are installed.

OS Win XP SP3

Please help...

At first glance I'd suggest reinstalling .NET. The Ribbon uses Microsoft .NET and Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF). If there is a problem with these the error you are getting might be caused by that.

Then it might be something else:

- Are you getting any specific error messages? Can you provide details or screen shots?

- Are there any Windows Application Event Logs for this crash?

- Are you starting it as the user who installed AutoCAD Mechanical and Inventor?

- What if you try and launch the application from another user?

- Was the application installed when background applications and antivirus applications were stopped?
- Have you tried a Repair from the Add and Remove Programs list?
