AutoCAD 2014 crashing on first run

I downloaded AutoCAD 2014 with a student license on Windows 7 64-bit OS. when I run it the first time, it shows the loading screen and then a dialog box pops up that says "Autodesk Component has stopped working" with the problem event name "APPCRASH".

I have basically exhausted all of Autodesk's support options, including repairing and completely reinstalling the program. Nothing has worked.

Since Autodesk is very limited in their customer support and error reporting services, this appears to be my only option for help.

You need to search first and help yourself before posting: if you have done so please note that you need to share what you did try (reinstall was noted, thank you). I searched and found dozens but here are two:

Hope one of these or one of the others help.
