    AutoCAD 2012 hangs during installation

I downloaded the student version of AutoCAD 2012 English for Windows 64-bit and extracted to C:\Autodesk as suggested. When I ran through the setup, I answered all of the questions and entered my newly appointed product key and serial number. It accepted it and started installing. The installer got as far as the initial installation of .NET and then just hung there forever. On the bottom it said "13 of 14", I believe, and the overall progress bar at the top had barely moved. I actually left it on all day to see if it would continue slowly. It didn't, and after around 10 hours it was still stalled at the same spot. I restarted the computer and tried again, several times. Every time since the first time it hangs much earlier in the installation, before answering any questions.

My suspicion is that the installer is somehow negatively interacting with my antivirus software, Avast Free ver 6.0.1367. The reason for this suspicion is my CPU usage shoots up while it's hung and it's AvastSvc.exe chewing up about 50% of the CPU. As a workaround I tried to disable Avast's Real-Time Shield before starting the installer, but this didn't change anything.

Does anyone know what the problem might be?

So as it turns out I figured out the problem. Avast has this new feature that automatically runs everything in a Sandbox environment to save you from malware installers. I don't really need that feature anyway, so I disabled the AutoSandbox feature in Avast. I restarted and ran the .NET repair and it was fixed.
