I previously installed AutoCAD 2010 64 bit, and uninstalled it, and today I installed Auto CAD 2011 64 bit, my OS is Windows 7 Pro 64 bit. During installation there was an ERROR message:
“1:5 2: adlmPITsetproductinformation failed 3” (Exactly what’s shown in the message)
I tried to locate and delete file named ProductInformation.pit as others indicated by seeking it in this location:
C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\ADLM\ProductInformation.pi
But I couldn’t find this file for no reason.
Can anyone help me with the issue? Thank you very much in advance!!!

This may seem silly, but have you tried copying the entire DVD to the local drive (or a network shared folder) and installing from that instead of directly from the DVD?
Get the Visual LISP Developer's Bible 2011 Edition, and the AutoCAD Network Administrator's Bible 2012 Edition on Amazon Kindle

Did you make sure after you uninstalled it, that it got all the files in C:\Users\%Username%\AppData\Local and C:\Users\%Username%\AppData\Roaming that go with Autodesk and the version you uninstalled?
Also, Look in the registry. Even though it was uninstalled it sometimes leaves stuff behind that you have to manually take out prior to reinstalling.
Hope that helps

For this error try deleting the C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\ADLM folder. If the error continues try the solution link bellow to clear everything for Autodesk applications off your computer then try and reinstall.
When removing entries from the Registry please follow the recommendations and warnings in this Solution. If an applications Installer fails please seek help from someone or use the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility. Manually editing many parts of the Windows Registry will cause more harm than good. In most cases when editing the Registry users just remove a part of a set of entries which parent and/or other keys in place.
For example manual edits can result in the condition where an applications installer complains that it is already installed and there is no listing for it in the Add and Remove Programs or Programs and Features lists. If this happens, first try the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility. It might just list the application. If not ask for help.
Let us know how things work out.

I have had tons of trouble trying to install inventor professional 2013, and i didnt have any previously installed products; the only things that may be in my registry would be from previous installation attempts or from inventor .ipt .iam .ipn and .dwg files i moved in from a flash drive. Your SOLUTION link isnt working for me, it says the page couldnt be found, and im running out of options. Please respond if you can help! I dont know what else to try...

This is whats left over from the last attempted install, i'm not sure how much of it is from Autodesk related processes. The screenshot of my temp files is attached.
