AutoCAD 2010 wont run,...developes errors!!!

Hello everyone,
I have been installing Auto-desk products for our clients(Inventor, Auto Cad Electrical and Mechanical) but since upgrading to 2010 i have been facing some challenges that give unexpected results. I I would like to ask for assistance from anyone who could be having an idea of what is happening in these situations.

1} Our client received an upgrade to Auto Cad 2010 of which I installed successfully and managed to activate. I combined the license file and it was OK. Both upgrade and previous versions run well.

2}The client then purchased two new single seats of Auto Cad 2010 (1 seat each but bought at different times, this means that they now have 2 extra licenses, the upgrade 1 license + 2 licenses-new DVDs of Auto Cad 2010)and this were activated. I there after discovered that it’s not allowed for one to combine to sets of a similar product i.e. Auto Cad 2010 and another license of AutoCAD 2010.We sent a request to have the licenses merged. Is there any other way out of this because the request is taking ages and the client is on my neck, and expects to have his software running.

3} We then installed a trial version of AutoCAD 2010 to enable the client to continue working as we wait for the response but we faced new problems. The software runs well in an admin account with all tools and features loaded but when run on the users accounts, several errors are reported before the product runs. It then loads with several tools missing.

4} We also noted that the computer's hard disk (Drive C) space is less than 1 GB after installation and the specifications are not fully met i.e. they are below the minimum requirements for installation of AutoCAD 2010.Could this affect the way the software runs?

Some of the errors include lines like;
a)Unable to load profile,..some files from the previous session may not be restored.
b) Migration access denied,...
c)Unhandled exception,....

Why is it possible to run the software in an admin account with no issues and the same fails in a power user account? Could this be an issue with rights? If so, why does it fail when the account is changed to a power user?

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

1} Another client upgraded to AutoCAD 2010 and both installation and activation were ok, however the software only runs as trial version for 30 days. What could be the issue here?

Any response will be highly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Peter K'onunda.

Sounds like you need to talk to an Autodesk reseller about fixing licensing
issues, no one here can help with that.

When it comes to combining your license files of identical products, this can be done. However, both product seats need to have their license files generated on the same date. The reason this typically doesn't work is because the license file that has most recently been created will supersede the other license file of the same product. If both licenses are generated on the same date, then when you combine the .lic files the NLM will automatically combine the seats for you instead of one superseding the other. So what you need to do is simply get a new .lic file for each product serial at the same time and combine them.
As for your trial, since it is a stand-alone trial and you have network licenses, you might as well uninstall the product. There is no reason to worry about why it is not working at this point since you will have to uninstall the product and reinstall it as a network version to use your network licenses as described above.
You should ensure that your product is installed with admin privilege and that the program is launched with admin or power user rights. You will want to make sure your computer meets or exceeds minimum requirement and that you have additionally 20% of your HDD free. If you continue to have problems after this, repost your results here.

There is much going on here. To avoid confusion I would suggest you make separate post for the errors in item 4). When you do so please describe the environment, OS, error messages and the like. Screen Shots of error messages are great! Let's work on the license issue(s) here.

I'll assume all are floating licenses using the Autodesk Network License Manager (ADLM) on FLEXlm.

2) The licenses need to be combined together with one serial number and a new license file for AutoCAD needs to be acquired with an increment and package for the three seats.

1} They need to uninstall and reinstall. When reinstalling choose the Configure button and specify the Network License option, license manager mode, and license server host name.
