AutoCAD 2010 - "borrow license" dialog box

    Hi,

I want to disable "borrow license" dialog box. I think the yellow balloon notification is enough (and good) and users doesn't want to click that dialog box everytime when they launch autocad.

I do not want to use any 3rd party .exe programs to close that dialog box.

    Please help!

    Jarno

    Hi,

If you want disable borrow, you can do it on the licence server by using an
    option file.
You can't disabled the possibility to access the dialog box in AutoCAD.

    Hi Franck,

What is the command to disable the borrowing action?

This is a part of my option file:

    HOST_GROUP GROUP_S1 PCNAME1 PCNAME2 PCNAME3 PCNAME4 PCNAME5 ... PCNAMEx

    INCLUDE_BORROW 72500MAP_2010_0F HOST_GROUP GROUP_S1
    RESERVE 9 72500MAP_2010_0F HOST_GROUP GROUP_S1

    RESERVE 2 73700CIV3D_2010_0F HOST_GROUP GROUP_S1

I want to give the group S1 the possibility to borrowing a licence, but I want all other users not able to borrow the licence

    Hi,

Disable borrowing is made with only include_borrow like you do.

But you have to do it for all feature.

In your case you ask to disable for user and you have used HOST_GROUP.

Is there only 1 user by pc ?

    If yes you are good.

This is what I have added on top in my OPT file

    HOST_GROUP GROUP_TR INTERNET 192.168.*.*
    EXCLUDE_BORROW 72500MAP_2010_0F HOST_GROUP GROUP_TR
    EXCLUDE_BORROW 73700CIV3D_2010_0F HOST_GROUP GROUP_TR

The problem is that only the users of S1 may borrow the licence, all other users of the network are not allowed to borrow the license.

Still the EXCLUDE_BORROW seems not to work, not on a HOST_GROUP, nor on HOST_NAME.

    It's 1 user per PC

You will need to use the GROUP keyword to define groups for INCLUDE_BORROW and EXCLUDE_BORROW as the HOST_GROUP does not apply to INCLUDE_BORROW and EXCLUDE_BORROW option lines. Because EXCLUDE_BORROW supersedes INCLUDE_BORROW you will to define your groups so that the users you want to INCLUDE_BORROW for are not in any groups that are specified for EXCLUDE_BORROW.

Chapter 13 of the License Administration Guide (by default “C:\Program Files\Autodesk Network License Manager \LicenseAdministration.pdf") has explanations for the keywords used in options files.

You will also find more information on this topic in this Technical Solution.

    This is the Solution

    GROUPCASEINSENSITIVE ON

    # Alle PC’s met een wilkeurige PCnaam (Dit werkt beter dan de Internet IP adressen) (Wildcards werken ook op namen)

    # Wildcards alos work for PC Names and seems better to work then the IP addresses

    HOST_GROUP XTR *

    EXCLUDE_BORROW 72500MAP_2010_0F HOST_GROUP XTR

    # De PC’s die enkel toegang hebben

    HOST_GROUP TROKE VISTA-LJMP

    INCLUDE_BORROW 72500MAP_2010_0F HOST_GROUP TROKE

Extra punt die we niet over het hoofd mogen zien Als de licentie file in een andere folder staat dan de ADSKFLEX.EXE dan moet de ADSKFLEX.OPT niet in de folder van de exe staan, maar wel in de folder van de licentie file.

Extra Point to be mentioned: In case the LIC file is in another file then de adskflex.exe file, the option file must be in the same folder as the lic file.

The solution proviced is actually not the answer to the question.

The question is/was how to disable the license borrow notification window when a license is already borrowed.
