    Authorize AdLM?

Do I need an authorization code for the AdLM itself? If so, what serial
number do I use? Will I need to re-authorize if I have an older version
running on the same server that will be upgraded?

No, you don't need to authorize the AdLM itself. You do need the server
code that is generated, you get this through the AdLM Admin tool, and your
autocad serial number(s) to get authorization codes for your autocad
licenses. Once you get the authorization codes for you autocad licenses
then you just enter those in the AdLM Admin tool. You will only ever need
to re-authorize the codes for you licenses if the server code changes. The
server code can change if you change certain pieces of hardware, like a NIC,
or if you change the IP address, as well as various other things.

If you ever plan on performing any work or upgrades on the AdLM server, just
write down what the current server code is as well as any changes that you
make to the server. Once you are done making your changes check to see if
the server code changed. If it didn't you are in the free and clear, if it
did then you have to re-authorize your licenses.

    Hi Kevin,

I'm trying to deploy my files to my client yet they
can't access the folder where I placed the setup file
for client deployment, but they can access my other
folders. Should I authorize my AdLM first before
they can install the deployment or not necessarily?

No it is not necessary to authorize the adlm before the install can take
place. Check the rights to the folder where the netsetup is. You can
install to all of the clients that you want without the adlm functioning.
It makes no difference until you try to actually run autocad.
