I just downloaded the Architecture 2012 file onto my Window 7, i5, 500GB HD with 512 MB graphic card computer. When I double-click the file, it asks me what program do I want to open the file with. How do I activate the software?????

Sounds like you didn't get all the parts. You should have a .exe to run and possibly some .rar files. Did you acquire the software by legal means?
