Acad Architecture 2011-FATAL ERROR: Unhandled Delayload "acdb17.dll"

I have just reloaded 2011 Acad Architecture and the program work good except I get a FATAL ERROR every time I click (left or right) on the property button of the tool pallet.  The tool pallet it self works, I can use all items on the pallet, switch between the pallets, all is good.  When I click on the side bar to dock the pallet the command line shows "Loading AEC Design Center UI..." and then a friendly window pops up "FATAL ERROR:  Unhandled Delayload "acdb17.dll" Module Not Found Exception at 7c812afbh".

I did get some assistance form the software seller and I followed their instructions to the letter.

1)      Uninstall and Autodesk products of the SAME version in the add/remove programs list.

2)      Clean up same locations as below.

3)      Delete:

  1.  C:\Program files\Your product    - if anything is left over.
  2. C:\documents and settings\all users\application data\autodesk\YourProduct
  3. C:\documents and settings\Yourname\application data\autodesk\YourProduct
  4. C:\documents and settings\Yourname\Local Settings\application data\autodesk\your product

4)      Reboot

5)      Disable EVERYTHING you can on the task tray, esp AntiVirus.

6)      Install again.

7)      Leave antivirus off until you know it is working across the board.

Also, if installing from DVD, consider downloading the install directly from Subscription.autodesk.com, or even the TRIAL you can find on the main Autodesk site.   It will be the same as the dvd copy.

If anyone know what to do I would appreciate it.

This error could be occuring due to the fact that the Application is targetting a dll from an older version.

Uninstall all versions of Revit and Reinstall Revit Architecture 2011 as per the link below:

This sounds like a solution that may work, BUT if does not work I am left without a working installation of Acad.

Alternatively, you can try replacing this file from a working machine

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Autodesk Shared\acdb17.dll

This issue has been fixed, but not by the suggestions above.

The Issue was a registry error.  When Acad 2007 was installed it recorded the path with the dll file ("C:\Program Files\Autodesk Architectural Desktop 2007\AecXToolClassLoader.dll") instead of just the file name.  By removing the path and leaving the file name ("AecXToolClassLoader.dll") the path defaulted to the folder the program was installed to (2011 Acad folder).  All is good on the home front again.

Thanks to Chris D with Microdesk for this working solution.
